Our choice for Biden’s Vice President

The announcement of Democratic Presidential elect Joe Biden, that he will chose a woman Vice President as his running mate, has brought to the forefront more than twenty-two potential candidates with experience in the Senate, House of Representatives, the federal executive branch and state and local governments.
Among that group is our choice for Vice President, Congresswoman Val Demings who represents the 10th Disctict of Florida. Representative Demings stands out as a person who has demonstrated exemplary leadership at local, state, and national levels of government.
Her work a social worker, police officer, and as Orlando’s first female Chief has given her special insight into the importance of protecting the future of our democracy. During her term as police chief the city had a 40% reduction in violent crime.
As a member of the Judiciary Committee and Vice Chair of the Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security, and Investigations, she has drawn on her 27 years In law enforcement to focused on the matters of the safety of our families and the importance of expanding equality and balance to our justice system. Her Committee assignments in the House of Representatives also includes Homeland Security, and she is a member of the New Democratic Coalition.
Representative Demings voted to impeach Donald John Trump. She supported legislation to provide the food stamp program and international food aid. She voted against proposed funding for the border wall, limiting legal immigration,
and the separation of families at the border. Representative Demings was also against the proposal to modify the budgetary and fiscal provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), known as Obamacare.
We encourage Joe Biden to select Representative Val Demings as Vice President and his running mate in the 2020 Presidential Election.
